100% solution-dyed polyester fabric
Solution-dyed polyester fabrics, refer to fabrics made from polyester fibers that are colored directly during the fiber production process. Dyes or pigments are evenly added to the spinning solution (polyester melt or spinning liquid) during the preparation stage. As a result, the fibers acquire color as they are formed, and are then processed into fabrics through textile manufacturing techniques.
Core Characteristics
1.Outstanding Color Performance
-
- Uniformity: The colorants are fully dispersed within the solution, ensuring that the color is consistent both inside and outside the fibers. This results in fabrics free from uneven coloring or color patches, achieving a color uniformity of over 95%.
- Richness and Stability: By formulating masterbatches or color pastes, thousands of colors can be achieved, including fluorescent, metallic, and gradient shades. Moreover, the color fastness meets or exceeds Grade 6 of the ISO 105 standard. The fabric can withstand over 50 washes without fading and maintains more than 90% of its color after 1,000 hours of sunlight exposure.
2.Enhanced Physical Properties
-
- These fabrics inherit polyester's excellent characteristics, such as high strength (tensile strength ≥ 4.0 cN/dtex), high elasticity (elongation at break 30%-40%), and abrasion resistance (withstanding over 100,000 abrasion cycles). Additionally, functional properties like antistatic, flame retardant, and antibacterial features can be added through composite spinning techniques.
- The hand feel of the fabric can be customized. By adjusting the fiber cross-section (round, profiled) and post-finishing processes, a crisp texture (suitable for suit fabrics) or a soft touch (ideal for underwear fabrics) can be achieved.
3.Significant Environmental Advantages
-
- Carbon Reduction and Pollution Mitigation: By eliminating the traditional dyeing process, 80%-90% of dyeing wastewater (containing pollutants such as COD and heavy metals) is reduced. Water consumption is decreased by 70%, and energy consumption (steam, electricity) is cut by more than 50%.
- Chemical Emission Reduction: There is no need to use chemical auxiliaries like fixing agents and leveling agents that are commonly used in traditional dyeing. This reduces the risk of harmful substances such as formaldehyde and APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates) from remaining in the fabric from the source.
